STEP 1: SCAN YOUR ID
While scanning your ID please keep in mind the following:
- Your ID must match the country through which you are registering
- The country on the ID has to match the country you choose during the registration process
If you haven't done it yet, please scan your ID now to proceed with bidding.

STEP 2: CHOOSE YOUR MEMBERSHIP
We offer 3 types of membership so buyers can choose what fits them best:
- Guest Membership (FREE): Best for people who are new to Copart and simply want to browse inventory and create a Watchlist to keep an eye on specific vehicles of interest. You become Guest Member automatically after completing step 1 of the registration.
- Basic Membership ($99 USD annually): Best for individual buyers who may only bid on and buy a few vehicles each year. This plan allows buyers to bid on 1 vehicle at a time up to $2,000. To bid higher, you may add an additional deposit. Your deposit needs to be 10% of the maximum amount you wish to bid on a vehicle. Example: To place a $3,500 bid you need to first add a deposit of $350.
- Premier Membership ($249 USD annually + $400 one-time fully refundable deposit): Best for individuals and business buyers who plan to bid on and buy several vehicles each year. This plan comes with substantial Buying Power.
STEP 3: PAY FOR YOUR MEMBERSHIP/ ADD A DEPOSIT:
Although we offer a few different payment options, the most reliable payment option for international buyers is wire transfer.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when sending us wire transfer:
- We only accept wire transfers from original buyers, i.e. the person whose name is on the Copart account through which you won a lot.
- You may send a deposit together with the registration fee if you’d like to save money on the bank fee.

STEP 4. GET READY TO BID
Now that you are all set for bidding, follow these tips as you start bidding on vehicles
- Be careful about bidding on vehicles located in Hawaii as the cost of international shipping from Hawaii is considerably higher than from the US mainland.
- Some cars are subject to export restrictions and can not be exported from the US so avoid bidding on cars with the following Vehicle doc type:
- Bill of Sale (BOS)
- Junk Receipt/ Junking Certificate
- Parts Only
- No Title Letter
- Dismantle or Scrap
- Scrap Certificate of Title
- If you'd like to check the vehicle before bidding, you may order inspection services or vehicle history and/or vehicle condition reports. Links to available reports and nearby inspectors may be found on lot details page.
Joining live auctions is completely free and doesn’t require even a registration. When the auctions are live, you may join them online and watch the auction process. It will give you an idea of how high you should bid to win.

STEP 5. WINNING
Congratulations! You have won a vehicle!
Please plan payment and shipping right away to avoid late payment and storage fees.
- You will have 3 business days to pay for the lot, including the day of sale. Please note that it may take wire transfer up to 3 business days to reach your Copart account (longer in case of public holidays) so we recommend buyers to plan payment ahead of time to avoid late payment fees.
