Why should I register for a Copart Membership?

Registering for a Copart Basic or Premier Membership is the first step to bidding and buying the cars you want! Basic and Premier Memberships come with several benefits, including:

  • Buying Power to bid and win

  • Ability to view multiple live online auctions simultaneously

  • Ability to save searches and create Watchlists

  • Access to your personal Member Dashboard

  • Special Broker discounts

  • Exclusive access to Member appreciation events

How do I sign up for a Copart Membership?

To register, follow these three steps:

  1. Submit your basic information (name, phone number and email address)

  2. Select your membership and pay

  3. Scan your ID and upload licenses (if applicable)

Once your documents have been verified by our Member License Team, you will receive an email letting you know that your account has been activated for bidding. Please note that it may take up to 1 business day for your documents to be processed and verified before you can bid. 

If you are already a Registered Guest who needs to finish the registration process, please do so on the "Complete Registration" page within your Account Information section.

 

What is Buying Power, and how much do I have?

Buying power indicates how many vehicles you can bid on and the amount of money you’re able to spend. When you initially register for a Basic Membership, you start with Buying Power of one vehicle up to $2,000.

 

How do I increase my Buying Power?

Increase your Buying Power one of two ways:

  • Place a deposit equal to 10% of the maximum amount you wish to spend

  • Upgrade to Premier Membership, which gives you substantial Buying Power to bid on multiple vehicles at a time

Buying Power deposits are not applied to vehicle purchases. Deposited funds to increase Buying Power can be fully refunded as long as all open invoices have been satisfied in full. You can increase your Buying Power or upgrade to Premier Membership through your My Account page.

Besides more Buying Power, what other benefits do I get with a Premier Membership?

Premier Members have several unique benefits, including:

  • Priority Member Services phone support

  • Free safety vest (one per membership year)

  • Free bottled water when visiting a Copart location

  • Fast pass barcode scanning to preview vehicles

What is the Copart Member Protection Pledge?

The Copart Member Protection Pledge is our agreement to meet a predefined group of conditions, or else you get your money back. Subject to limitations, the Pledge is offered on purchases of any items bought through Copart for less than $49,999.99.

The Pledge contains statements about vehicle images, odometer readings, running conditions, title types, Brokers and more. As you make your way through the pledge, you’ll see that it thoroughly outlines limitations, eligibility requirements and claims instructions.

Copart will, in its sole discretion, determine whether you are eligible to participate, whether a loss is of the type that qualifies for a Copart Member Protection Pledge reimbursement, and the final amount of any reimbursement. We reserve the right to terminate the Copart Member Protection Pledge or modify its Terms and Conditions at any time – with or without notice.

Why can’t I register on the website?

  • Enter the information in English (Latin) letters even if you are registering on the Spanish, French, Russian or Arabic version of the website. Our system only reads English characters

  • Make sure you entered the information correctly

  • If you have selected your country, the international address/phone number should work

  • If for some reason you have exhausted all options and are still unsuccessful - email member.services@copart.com

  • To make it easier to complete the registration process, start your registration on a mobile phone. It will be easier to scan the documents that you need to upload
