Buying for personal use in North Carolina? You have the green light!This means you can purchase clean and salvage titled vehicles without business licenses.

In North Carolina, dealers, dismantlers, general businesses and exporters are recommended to provide Copart an operational license, a sales tax license and sales tax exemption forms. This expands bidding eligibility for those looking to buy in states that do require licenses.
Operational licenses include dealer licenses issued by the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles. Business licenses issued by your local city or county office are accepted too.
The Certificate of Registration, Sales tax license is issued by the North Carolina Department of Revenue. Vehicle Dealers may submit the NC Streamlined Sales & Use Tax Certificate (Form E-595E) in place of the sales tax license.
