Once again the entries in this year’s Rebuild Challenge showcased the top level skills we’ve come to expect from our Copart rebuilder community. While the public voted and chose the Top Three Winners, there were a few entries our panel of elite judges loved and thought were worth some extra attention and some honorable mentions.
Mangled McLaren

Seeing this smashed exotic was painful for car guys. It takes a lot of time and special skills to restore a McLaren back to street ready status. At Copart, smart shoppers with car repair skills can get an amazing ride like this one at a more than reasonable price. Well done, Steven M.
A Challenge With a Challenger Hellcat

Black cars are just sleek, stylish and sophisticated. We loved this project because it started with just about half a car and came out looking like amazing muscle. We think that's worth a tip of the hat. This 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat super charged was resurrected by a team in Texas, which Copart also calls home. Thanks Sandra P. for sharing this honorable mention from the home team.
Rebuilding Muscle
Classic cars are just so much cooler than most modern utilitarian designs. So we love it when car guys build back classics, and bring them back better. Josephine J. took an aging stock Camaro and transformed it into a real head turner. It makes you want to pop in some Southern Rock or hair metal and hit the highways.
G.I. Jeep

One of our expert judges is a self-described history nerd who insisted this one deserved some special love. Not only did Matthew S. return this burned out and rusted Jeep shell to its former glory, but he restored it to a historically accurate military general purpose vehicle, or Jeep for short. As a military founded company, we have to salute his attention to detail and impressive work.
Marvelous Mustang

We love a blending of classic style with modern performance. So we were thrilled when we saw the body of the 1967 Mustang Fastback mated with the handling and power of a 2010 Mustang GT-500. We also loved the paint job and modern flair. This is a one-of-a-kind vehicle an owner can turn heads with. Project cars like this one is what the Rebuild Challenge is all about. We'd love to see more entrees like this next year.. Marcus H., we like the way you think.
Classy Corvette
As Copart car guys, we love things that go very fast. We applaud Judah F.’s vision in seeing the potential in this Corvette with a crushed front end. Not only did he achieve a difficult repair, he added in some sweet flair. Front paint job to spoiler, we loved this speedster.
So congratulations to our honorable mentions as well as our winners. Do you agree with our honorable mentions? Let us know what you think in the comments. And thank you to everyone who entered for making the 2022 Rebuild Challenge a roaring success. We can't wait to see what you come up with for 2023.
