The laws of the state where the vehicle is located govern who can bid on and win vehicles in auctions, not where the buyer is located. Some states allow private individuals and businesses to buy cars at auction from dealers, private sellers, and others.
Search for “No License Required” in the top search bar. Then use the filters to zero in on the vehicles that fit your needs.
Use A Broker Inside the US
Brokers have all the required licenses to bid on and buy vehicles at auction. For a fee, they will buy a vehicle for you.. They may offer other services like evaluating vehicles and assistance in arranging Delivery. We maintain relationships with several reputable Brokers who will be happy to work with you.
Your Broker will explain their process for bidding and buying for you, since many have their own preferred procedures.
Remember, you’re essentially buying the vehicle from the Broker, so you’ll need to contact them directly to resolve any issues.
Certified Reseller & Member Lounges Outside of the US
If you’re located outside of the United States, you can work with a Copart Lounge or Certified Reseller. These third-party businesses have all the required credentials and can help you find, bid on, win, import and register vehicles from the US.
Buy & Repair Salvage Vehicles
Many states don’t require any special licenses to buy salvage-title vehicles in online auctions. Hobbyists and others with automotive repair skills buy project and parts cars with salvage titles.
A title usually gets branded as salvage when an insurance company declares a vehicle is a total loss.
Most states have a legal process where a rebuilt or repaired vehicle can be issued a new title and then licensed and insured for legal use on public roads. This option works well when you have more sweat equity than spare cash.
