No, you don't need a broker for every purchase on Copart. Vehicles sold in public states can be bought without a business license. Check the state license requirements or browse our No License Required category to buy directly from Copart. Keep in mind, you'll need to be a Copart Member to buy without a broker.

Why do you need a broker?
Don't have eligibility to bid
Some Copart vehicles require a business license to bid, depending on the state. If a vehicle is in a restricted state and you don't have the right license, you can still buy it through a third-party Broker. Many also offer extra services like inspections, document handling, and delivery.
Buying from outside the U.S.
If you’re purchasing from Copart outside of the U.S., you’ll need to provide a valid business registration or license confirming your business is involved in vehicle sales (for example, a dealer or dismantler license, or a comparable license in your country). Don’t have a license? You can purchase through one of Copart’s approved Non-U.S. Brokers
